A centre you can walk
Nottingham's centre is small. Old Market Square, the Lace Market, Hockley and the station sit within a few minutes of each other on foot, and a client site in any of them is walkable from a central flat. The thing a map hides is the gradient. Canning Circus and the streets climbing up from the station are a proper hill in either direction.
The station and the line south
Nottingham station is on the south edge of the centre, with a tram stop on it and trains to London St Pancras, Birmingham, Sheffield and Lincoln. The large office development at Unity Square sits directly opposite. If you are going home at weekends, or your team flies in and out, being near the station is worth more than it sounds on paper.
Beeston, the campus and the park
Not everything is central. The Boots campus is out towards Beeston, and the University of Nottingham's University Park and the science park sit along University Boulevard. Both are a tram ride or a short drive rather than a walk. For a long engagement on one of those sites, the centre is a default worth questioning rather than an obvious answer.
What the tram does not cover
The tram runs broadly north to south, out to Hucknall and Phoenix Park one way and Clifton and Toton Lane the other. It is quick and it is reliable. What it does not do is go east, so West Bridgford, Mapperley and Carlton are bus or car despite being close in. Evenings are simpler: the Lace Market and Hockley are where people eat.
Not every train is quick
London and Lincoln are straightforward from Nottingham, and Birmingham and Sheffield are manageable. Manchester is the awkward one. The direct service goes the long way round through Sheffield and takes a good deal longer than the map suggests. If the project has people travelling in from the north west, work that out before anybody commits to doing it as a day return.
The centre empties at weekends
The working half of town clears out on a Friday evening. Offices in the Lace Market go quiet, the streets around the station are close to empty on a Sunday, and what stays open sits around Hockley, Sneinton Market and the Creative Quarter. If you are staying over the weekend rather than going home, it helps to know which half still has people in it.
A hire car needs a plan
Parking in the middle of Nottingham is priced to put you off, and most central flats come with no space at all. If the client site is at Beeston, Clifton or on one of the business parks you probably need the car, which makes where it sits overnight a real question rather than a detail. Many people here own one and still take the tram in.
When someone comes to visit
There is enough to fill a weekend without leaving. Wollaton Hall sits in its deer park on the west side, the castle stands on a sandstone rock above the town with old pubs built into the base of it, and the Park Estate below still runs on gas lamps. Southwell Minster is a short drive out and Lincoln is about an hour by direct train.

Can I park in Nottingham?
City centre parking is paid and the residential streets close in are permit zones. The tram and the park and ride sites take most of the pain out of it if you are commuting to the edge of the city, and are worth using rather than driving into the middle twice a day.

Yes, that is the normal arrangement. We invoice the company directly with the dates, the address and any purchase order reference, and VAT is shown properly. Give us the billing details when you book and it will be right first time rather than something you chase from a hotel lobby.
Do you do weekly or monthly corporate rates?
Yes. The rate drops as the stay gets longer and drops again beyond a month. For a Monday to Thursday pattern over a long project, talk to us rather than booking nights online, because there is usually a better way to structure it.
Can I actually work from the apartment?
Yes, and that is deliberate. There is desk space and proper wifi rather than a chair by a window and a connection that struggles with a video call. If you need to know the actual speed at a specific property before you commit, ask and we will tell you.
What if I arrive on the last train?
Fine. Check-in is self service with a code, so there is no reception to reach and nobody to wake up. Same for a five in the morning departure.
