The short answer
Accommodation for contractors and trades working in Stratford-upon-Avon.
We let whole houses and apartments in Stratford-upon-Avon to contractors, trades and site crews. You get the whole property: beds in separate rooms, a kitchen, a washing machine, somewhere to dry work clothes and, where the property has it, somewhere to leave a van. Stays run from a week to several months, the rate drops the longer the job runs, and we invoice the company if that is who is paying. Stratford is a town rather than a city, so a central property is genuinely central: everything is a walk.
Called a few different things
Called a few different things depending on the trade. Contractor accommodation Stratford-upon-Avon, contractors accommodation, workers accommodation Stratford-upon-Avon, worker accommodation, accommodation for workers, accommodation for contractors, tradesmen accommodation, accommodation for tradesmen, contractor housing, rooms for contractors, contractor stays, trade stays. All the same request: somewhere sensible for a crew that is on site at seven.
Why the hotel does not work
Four rooms in a budget hotel, for eleven weeks, with nowhere to dry anything.
That is the arithmetic most people arrive with. Four separate rooms, four breakfasts you are too early for, nowhere to wash a set of work clothes and no kitchen, multiplied across a long job. A whole house costs less for the same crew and is a considerably better place to come back to at six. It suits you if:
Where you would be
Where the work is in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The work is out along the corridor
Very little of the engineering work is in Stratford itself. The sites sit out along the Wellesbourne, Long Marston, Gaydon and Warwick corridor, much of it automotive and engineering. From the town you drive outward each morning rather than into a centre, which is the right way round, because you are going against the visitor traffic instead of queuing in it.
A46, M40 and the run to site
The A46 is the spine here. North it meets the M40 at junction fifteen by Warwick; west it runs on towards Alcester and Evesham. Gaydon sits off the M40 to the south east, Wellesbourne is a short hop east, and Long Marston lies south west on the far side of the river. None of it is far. All of it assumes a vehicle.
Parking a van in a tourist town
This is the honest weak point. The central car parks are sized and priced for day visitors, height barriers rule out anything tall, and the streets closest to the centre are residents only. A van needs somewhere off street, or somewhere outside the controlled zone entirely. That is a question better settled before you arrive than at seven in the morning with a ladder on the roof.
Early starts and what is open
The town wakes up for visitors, not for trades. Cafes on the main streets open late by site standards, so the filling stations and the big shops on the edge of town are where you will end up at half five. Evenings are the other way round. There is plenty to eat, most of it busy with people on holiday, and the prices reflect that.
Where the week actually goes
Trade prices and trade hours do not exist in the centre. The merchants and the bigger stores sit out on the industrial estates on the north side, not among the tea rooms. For food, the pubs a street or two back from Waterside are where you end up rather than the places with a menu board outside. Laundry becomes a weekend job.
Central is the wrong instinct here
A lot of people head for somewhere as close to the middle as they can and then spend six weeks regretting it. For a six o'clock start the centre is the slowest place to leave from and the hardest to leave a vehicle in. The outward edges put you on the A46 in a couple of minutes and outside the controlled parking entirely.
August traffic and February mornings
The two hard seasons are hard in different ways. From late July the centre clogs from mid morning and any journey that touches it costs time nobody planned for. In February the issue is frost on the A46 and darkness at both ends of the shift. Spring and autumn here are genuinely easy, which is when most people underestimate the place.
Crossing the river without going through town
Clopton Bridge is medieval, narrow and carries far more traffic than it was built for, and in the centre almost everything funnels towards it. The road people learn late is Seven Meadows Road to the south west, which crosses the water and keeps you clear of the one way system altogether. The Tramway Bridge alongside Clopton is for people on foot.
Booking direct
The same property, without the platform's cut.
Our properties are on Airbnb and Booking.com as well, and you are welcome to book there. Booking direct also avoids the guest service fee the big platforms add on top, which on a longer Stratford-upon-Avon stay is not a small number. Booking with us direct also means you are talking to the people who actually run the property rather than a message thread inside an app, which matters when you need an early check-in or an extra week.
For a job running more than a couple of weeks, message us rather than booking online. We will quote a weekly rate for the whole property, hold it across the job, and invoice the company monthly rather than you paying up front every week.

Stratford-upon-Avon questions
What people ask about staying in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Where in Stratford-upon-Avon would I actually be?
Stratford's project work is mostly automotive and engineering along the Gaydon, Warwick and Wellesbourne corridor, plus the tourism and hospitality businesses in the town itself. Everything outside the centre is a drive.
Can I park in Stratford-upon-Avon?
Parking is the one genuinely awkward thing about Stratford. The town centre car parks fill with visitors from mid morning in summer, the one way system is unforgiving, and a property with its own space is worth considerably more here than the same property in a city.
Which part of Stratford-upon-Avon should I be in?
Most of what you would need day to day sits in the town centre, the riverside and the streets around the theatres. Tell us where you need to be each morning rather than which postcode you fancy, and we will be honest about what is close to it and what only looks close on a map.
How easy is it to get around Stratford-upon-Avon without a car?
Birmingham is fifty minutes by train, the M40 puts Oxford at an hour and London at two, and the Cotswolds start immediately south.
What is there to do in Stratford-upon-Avon on a day off?
The theatres, the river and the town itself fill an evening, and the Cotswolds, Warwick, Leamington and the National Trust properties nearby fill a weekend. On a long stay the surrounding area matters more than the town, because you will have seen the town by week two.
Questions we get asked
What site managers ask us.
Can you invoice the company?
Yes, and that is the normal arrangement on a long job. One invoice a month with the dates, the address and a purchase order reference if you need one, rather than a folder of hotel receipts.
Is there parking for a van?
At some properties, and it is the first thing to ask. Tell us what you are driving when you enquire and we will put you somewhere it actually fits rather than somewhere the listing photo suggests it might.
How many can stay?
It depends on the property, and most of ours sleep four in separate rooms. For a bigger crew we can often put you in two properties close together. Message reservations rather than trying to make the calendar do it.
What about early starts and late finishes?
Check-in is a code, so there is no reception to reach and nobody to wake up. Leaving at half five is nobody's business but yours.
Check availability
Send us the job dates.
Check availability on the booking site, or message reservations with the dates, the headcount and what you are driving, and we will quote the whole property.
